Sunny Hong 

Analytic psychotherapist, Family Therapist, Clinical Consultant, B.SW, M.SW (NSW) MAASW, Dip. Psychotherapy, ANZAP. 

 

Sunny is a family therapist and an analytic psychotherapist. She has been working with individuals, couples and families for the past 18 years. She is a clinical member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy (ANZAP).

Sunny has been interested in the field of trauma and how the traumatic experiences in childhood impinges on the development of self and one’s feeling of well being. These traumatic experiences arrest a person’s developmental processes in such a way that they experience difficulties in relationships, suffer from depression and anxiety and other forms of psychopathology. Sunny is currently researching on borderline personality for Ma(Hon) Psychology.

Qualifications:

Sunny has been trained as a Psychoanalyst and Psychotherapist with ANZAP.  She attained her Masters in Couple and Family Therapy from UNSW, having initially graduated from UNSW in 1988 with a Bachelor of Social Work. Sunny  is an Authorised Clinician with the NSW Children’s Court Clinic and NSW Transcultural Mental Health Centre. She provides psychosocial assessments for children and mental health assessments for families and individuals from Non-English speaking backgrounds.  She also serves as a part-time Member for the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal.
